Phoenix House Florida’s Annual Celebration of Recovery set for Thursday, September 12, 2019, in Citra, Florida.
Tampa, FL — September 8, 2019 — On September 12, 2019, Phoenix House Florida (PHFL) will host their Annual Celebration of Recovery. The celebration is held each year to recognize patients’ hard work and success in recovery. Phoenix House Florida holds the event every year in September to commemorate National Recovery Month.
John Cunningham, a graduate of Phoenix House Florida, will receive the Celebration of Recovery Alumni of the Year Award for his inspirational story and leadership in the recovery community. Since leaving PHFL, John successfully maintained his recovery and eventually became a house manager at Real Recovery, a sober living home in Brandon, where he is still employed as the program administrator. “Here I am able to give back and help guys transition back to life without drugs and alcohol. Many of the life skills I still used today can be traced back to the many groups I took at Phoenix House Florida” stated Cunningham.
The day will also include an award recognizing the Community Partner of the Year,Signature Brands, LLC of Ocala for their many years of support and partnership with PHFL to employ numerous patients. And finally, we have the honor of hosting Brian Riedl, Region 3 Director for the Florida Department of Corrections.
In its 30th year, Recovery Month spreads the positive message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can and do recover. Phoenix House Florida is proudly continuing its commitment to help patients live a life free from addiction and guide them toward lasting recovery.
The Phoenix House Florida Celebration of Recovery will take place at the PHFL residential program located at 15681 North Hwy 301, Citra, FL 32113 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. The free event will offer a lunch buffet to guests, an awards ceremony, a silent auction, is open to the public and media are invited to attend.
